Peter's Guide To Getting Ideas

Last Updated December 8, 1996

Ideas are everywhere; all around you. All you have to do is reach out and grab them. But in order to do so you must know the difference between an idea and a topic. Here's a topic: women in business. Here's an idea: former welfare mothers who've reached the top.

You can get ideas from: magazines, newspapers, t.v. and radio, books, newsletters, your life, family, friends, nature, overheard conversations, web sites, usenet news groups, your hobbies, lectures, questions, etc..

Keep pen and paper handy at all times to jot your ideas down as they come to you and to flesh them out.

Refine your idea as it may have been done many times before. Put a fresh angle to it.

Research your idea to flesh it out.
